    Failure Analysis on 29340 Thrust Roller Bearing

    • Failure analysis was investigated by external pattern observation for the bearing, chemical composition analysis, hardness testing, metallographic examination and fracture analysis. The results showed that the bearing was fractured at the indentation and nonmetallic inclusions because of the eccentricity between the inner and outer rings making the outer ring extruded with a large load, due to the improper method during the test installation of 29340 thrust roller bearing.
