Application of Milling Instead of Grinding in Impact Specimens Machining

    • It was introduced that the process technology with milling instead of grinding based on high speed cutting had been applied in impact specimen process in Jigang Group Co., Limited. The process technology had replaced traditional surface grinder processing and changed traditional impact specimen processing. Compared with the grinding, the cutting resistance on milling instead of grinding was weak; the influence of the cutting heat was little; the deformation of cutting tools and specimens was slight; it could be achieved high accuracy and low roughness processing, and the material removal rate per unit time was three to six times as the grinding rate of grinder, which could greatly improve the processing efficiency of impact specimens.
