    LASER RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY ANALYSIS ON OXIDE SCALE OF HIGH CARBON STEEL WIRE

    • The three-layer structure of oxide scale formed on high carbon steel wire was confirmed by laser Raman spectroscopy (LRS),together with SEM and XRD. In addition,oxide scales formed under controlled and furnace cooling had shown different mechanical descaling property. The former could be descaled cleanly,whereas a residual layer of Fe3O4 was found on the surface of steel wire after mechanical descaling for the latter.
