Influence Factors of Density Determination by Immersion Method

  • Several factors had been discussed on the process of density determination by immersion method. Theoretically, the ratio d/D was a parameter in the formula of density determination, in which d referring the diameter of wire and D referring the inner diameter of vessel. Minimizing the ratio d/D could decrease the deviation of measurement. ρkρs~k(k<1) should be satisfied to make the immersion method in GB/T 1033.1-2008 available, even though with great limitation. The effect of temperature on determining the density could be eliminated, considering the linear expansion coefficient of conventional materials.
