Cases Analysis on Titanium Alloy Metallurgical Defects

Some titanium alloy metallurgical defects cases encountered in engineering practice were analyzed,and corresponding prevention measures were proposed.The case analysis results show that the titanium alloymetallurgical defects mainly included hard α defects,inclusions,segregation,holes and so on. All thesemetallurgical defects,were mainly formed and remained during vacuum consumable smelting process,and they couldbe controlled or avoided by improving the raw material quality and melting process.
