Comparison of new and old national standards and international standards for determination method of breaking force of steel wire rope

    • The main technical differences between the old and new national standards and international standards of the measured breaking force test method of wire rope are analyzed from the aspects of term definition, sample preparation, result determination and safety. Compared with the old version of the standard, the new version of the standard add and delete some terms and definitions, the preparation method of some samples is refined. The rules for judging whether the test results are valid are adjusted. Compared with international standards, the safety requirements of international standards are more comprehensive. It requires sufficient safety measures for personnel, equipment and the whole test process to ensure the safe and successful completion of the test. The grouting material pouring method proposed by the new national standard has the characteristics of long time consumption, complex process, small application range and high requirements for test personnel. The comparative analysis of new and old national standards and international standards is helpful for quality inspection departments and related enterprises to better understand and apply the new standards and improve the effectiveness of test results.
