The influence of the selection of tensile specimen types on the tensile properties of medium steel plates

The comparative tests of rectangular and circular tensile specimens of Q460C hot rolled steel plate with a thickness of 90 mm were carried out at room temperature.The results show that compared with the rectangular tensile specimen, the yield strength and tensile strength of the circular tensile specimen were relatively lower, which was due to the difference of the microstructure in the thickness direction of the steel plate.
