Cause of orange peel defects on the surface of electrogalvanized stamping steel plate

    • The cause of orange peel defects on the surface of electrogalvanized stamping steel plate were analyzed by metallographic examination, hardness test and mechanical property test. The results show that the microstructure of electrogalvanized steel plate was ferrite+pearlite, the grain size on the surface of the defective sample was abnormally coarse, which increased the surface hardness and decreased the mechanical properties, ultimately led to orange peel defects on the surface of the stamped steel plate. The method of controlling rolling temperature could refine the grains, improve the deformation coordination between grains, promote uniform plastic deformation and avoid orange peel defects in stamped steel plates.
