    Test method for fatigue limit of aluminum alloys

    • According to three standard methods, fatigue limit tests were conducted on 6082-T6 aluminum alloy base material and welding material. The median fatigue limit of the material was obtained using the up-and-down test method and the wave method. The safety fatigue limit of the material was obtained using the standard normal bias method and the one-side error limit method. The results show that according to HB/Z 112—1986 and GB/T 24176—2009, the median fatigue limit results measured using the up-and-down test method were the same, while the difference in median fatigue limit results measured using the wave method was within one stress step. The safety fatigue limit measured by the standard normal bias method was higher than that measured results by the one-side error limit method.
