    Causes of surface cracks on driven gear of metro train

    • Magnetic particle test, metallographic examination, hardness test and chemical composition analysis were used to analyze the causes of a large number of cracks on the surface of subway train driven gear. The results show that the nature of the gear surface crack was contact fatigue crack, and the early crack was caused by grinding burn on the tooth surface during grinding.
