Abstract
The stainless steel 303 Cu wire rod was pulled into hexagonal rod and punched. In these two processes, the material cracking probability was large. The cracking samples were comprehensively analyzed by chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination and electron probe analysis. At the same time, the production process of wire rod was analyzed, and the cracking reasons were found, and the countermeasures were put forward. The results show that the composition, morphology and distribution of sulfide inclusions in steel were the main reasons for cracking. The processing cracking probability of stainless steel 303Cu wire was effectively reduced by adjusting the heating process of continuous casting and hot rolling, and increasing the online heat treatment process after rolling.
