    Development and Application of Thermal Expansion Characteristic Parameter Measuring Device for Metallic Materials

    • The terms and definitions of measurement of thermal expansion characteristic parameters for metal materials were described, and the measuring device of thermal expansion characteristic parameters according to the requirements of standard was developed. The structure and design characteristics of the developed measuring device were discussed, and the thermal expansion coefficient of different metal materials were measured. The results show that the developed measuring device basically meets the relevant technical requirements of GB/T 4339—2008 and ASTM E228:2017, and can accurately measure the thermal expansion coefficient of materials. It also proves that there are differences in the expansion coefficient of iron-based, copper based and aluminum based metal materials under the same test conditions. The device can provide the linear thermal expansion coefficient data of a metal material at constant temperature, and provide technical support for the development and design of specific products.
