    Development and Application of Corrosion Fatigue Test System

    • Marine engineering steel has been subjected to the coupling effect of environmental corrosion and fatigue load, but the traditional single assessment of corrosion and fatigue can not meet the test demand. Therefore, a set of corrosion fatigue test system was developed to test the fatigue life of materials in corrosion environment, and the fatigue life of S690QL high strength steel plate used in marine engineering was tested in corrosion environment with the system. The results show that the system can accurately control the test temperature, flow rate, pH value of corrosive medium and other parameters, and can realize the performance evaluation of materials under the coupling effect of corrosion and fatigue. Under the same cyclic stress, the fatigue life of the material under the coupling effect of simulated seawater corrosion and fatigue load was much lower than that in air at room temperatre.
