Abstract
The influence of welding parameters, including shielding gas, welding current and pulse mode, on the weld solidification crack sensitivity of 5052 Al-Mg alloy in melt inert-gas welding (MIG) was investigated by fishbone testing. The results show that the weld solidification crack sensitivity increase with the increase of welding current and the proportion of helium in shielding gas. The weld solidification crack sensitivity of double pulse MIG with square current waveform was higher than that of single pulse MIG. With the increase of Mg content in grain boundary, continuous grain boundary will be formed in the weld, which is beneficial to reduce the weld solidification crack sensitivity.
