Corrosion Perforation Causes of Bottom Plate for Q235B Steel Crude Oil Storage Tank

A Q235B steel storage tank bottom plate corrosion perforation leakage accident occurred. The corrosion perforation causes of storage tank bottom plate were analyzed by means of macroscopic analysis, microscopic analysis, chemical composition analysis, mechanical property test and metallographic examination. The results show that the coating on the bottom plate of storage tank was damaged after bulging due to poor quality, and oxygen corrosion occurred at the damage point, which led to corrosion perforation of the storage tank bottom plate.
