    Development of Low Cost EH36 High Strength Steel Plate for Ship and Its Properties

    • Instead of added expensive Nb and V elements, only added Ti element to the C-Mn steel to refine the grain size, and low cost EH36 high strength steel plate for ship was developed by thermo mechanical control process, and its mechanical properties and microstructure were analyzed. The results show that the cost of the EH36 high strength steel plate for ship was lower than that of the original, its properties met the requirements of the standard, and its strength and toughness have a large margin. After artificial strain aging, the low temperature impact toughness was still good. After two kinds of heat input welding, the mechanical properties of the welded joint met the requirements of the base metal, and the margin was large, which show that it had superior weldability.
