Bulk Density and Apparent Porosity of Aluminum Carbon Slide Gate Brick in Different Immersion Solution

Abstract
The bulk density and apparent porosity of HBLT-70 alumina carbon slide gate brick were determined in industrial pure kerosene and tap water respectively. The results show that the apparent porosity determined by using industrial pure kerosene as impregnating solution was 7. 6% higher than that of tap water. However, there was no difference in the results of bulk density determinaiton. The wettability of industrial pure kerosene to graphite was higher than that of tap water, so the impregnation saturation degree of HBLT-70 alumina carbon slide gate brick in industrial pure kerosene was higher.
