A 30CrMnSiA steel bolt fractured during assembly. The causes of fracture on bolt were analyzed by means of scanning electron microscope analysis, hardness test and metallographic examination. The results show that the operate did not operate properly when 30CrMnSiA steel bolt assembled, which led to overload torsion fracture.
