Abstract
The main technical requirements of the domestic and overseas Charpy pendulum impact test method standards such as GB/T 229—2007, ISO 148-1:2016, ASTM E23:2018, JIS Z 2242:2018 on the geometric parameters, processing tolerance, surface roughness, sample marking and so on of the Charpy V-notch impact sample were analyzed and compared. The main differences of the processing requirements of samples in standards were found out, and suggestions for the revision of GB/T 229—2007 and the application of standards in the laboratory were put forward. The results show that the ISO 148-1:2016, JIS Z 2242:2018, ASTM E23:2018 standards are more accurate in defining the names and symbols of the geometric dimensions of the impact specimen. ASTM E23:2018 standard is more strict in defining the tolerance such as notch angle, notch bottom height, the angle between longitudinal faces of specimen and the dimension parallel to axis and perpendicular to height, while the dimensional tolerance requirements for the length of specimen and the distance between notch and end face are relatively loose. For the surface roughness and specimen marking of the machined surface of specimen, the requirements of ASTM E23:2018 standard are more strict and specific than other standards.
