Sampling Problems in Direct Reading Spectrum Test for Chemical Composition of Automotive Cast Aluminum Alloy

    • Chemical composition and tensile properties of raw materials for automobile casting aluminum alloy are generally required to be tested for quality inspection. The chemical compositions of samples at different sections were analyzed by direct reading spectrometer. The results show that the invisible defects in cast aluminum alloy samples could affect test results. Accuracy of test results could be improved by testing the cross sections of samples with different sampling directions to avoid influence of invisible defects in cast aluminum alloy.
