    Cause Analysis on Fracture of a Rod End with Self-lubricating Joint Bearing

    • A rod end with self-lubricating joint bearing tractured at the thread in the fatigue test. The fracture causes of the bearing rod were analyzed by means of fracture analysis, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination and hardness test. The results show that the fracture of the rod of rod end with self-lubricating joint bearing was caused by the circumferential groove damage on the surface of the thread in the cold rolling forming process, and the fracture occurred at the place with the maximum stress.
