    Failure Analysis on Fracture of TA2 Titanium Bone Plate

    • The TA2 titanium bone plate implanted in a patient broke. The fracture causes of bone plate were analyzed by means of macroscopic observation, chemical composition analysis, hardness test, metallographic examination and scanning electron microscope analysis. The results show that the large residual stress in the structure of TA2 titanium plate after cold deformation was an important reason for the fracture of the bone plate, and the fracture form of the plate was cleavage brittle fracture with cracks extending from the outside to the inside of the bone plate.
