Effect of Polyurethane Matrix Ratio on Mechanical Properties of Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polyurethane Composites

    • Aramid fiber reinforced polyurethane composites with different matrix formulations were prepared by using A and B two components polyurethane as matrix and aramid fiber as reinforcement. The mechanical properties of the composites were analyzed by means of tensile test, bending test and impact test. The results show that with the increase of polyurethane component B, the tensile fracture strength, tensile elastic modulus, flexural strength and flexural elastic modulus of the aramid fiber reinforced polyurethane composites increased, and the elongation at break decreased. The impact toughness of the aramid fiber reinforced polyurethane composites increased first and then decreased. When the ratio of component A and B was 10:4, the impact toughness was the highest.
