Development of Roller Thermal Fatigue Testing Machine and Exploration of Test Method

Abstract
The thermal fatigue testing machine for thermal fatigue resistance testing of roller materials was independently designed and developed. Through selecting appropriate heating method and power supply, circulating heating system, cooling system and so on, and by self-installation and debugging, the developed testing machine was made suitable for testing the thermal fatigue resistance of roller materials. The samples of common materials for rollers of high-chromium iron and high-chromium steel were selected for thermal fatigue testing by using the developed testing machine. According to the characteristics of the material and the fatigue cracks of the rollers, a unique fatigue crack testing and thermal fatigue resistance evaluation method was designed. A quantitative measurement method for measuring the micro crack area fraction and the total crack length was developed.
