Abstract
Based on a stereo microscope with large scene depth continuous zoom function, the surface micro morphology images of the material were collected layer by layer in the z-axis direction, and the height map was generated by stacking the acquired images to realize the visualization of the material surface micro morphology in three dimensions (3D). The results show that the three-dimensional visualization image is more intuitive and accurate than the two-dimensional planar image in characterizing the surface condition of high porosity materials and analyzing the surface corrosion and wear condition of materials. The large scene depth and 3D visualization is a characterization method which is different from collecting the two-dimensional planar morphology and can provide more information for analyzing the surface micro morphology of materials.
