Cause Analysis on Leakage of 3104H19 Aluminum Alloy Cans

    • A wide range of corrosion and leakage happened to a batch of aluminum alloy cans after canning beers. The leakage causes of the aluminum alloy cans were analyzed by means of macro observation, chemical composition analysis, micro analysis and so on. The results show that the quality of the inner coating film of the cans was not good, and there were some defects such as micro-cracks, micro-holes and micro-bubbles on the inner coating film. The corrosive elements in beer penetrated into the matrix of the aluminum alloy cans, which caused electrochemical corrosion, and resulted in corrosion penetrate of the aluminum alloy cans.
