    Revision Process and Technical Improvement of International Standard ISO 3108:2017 for Determining the Measured Breaking Force of Steel Wire Ropes

    • From the actual conditions of steel wire rope test work, the problems existing in ISO 3108:1974 were pointed out. The revision process of the international standard ISO 3108:2017 for determining the measured breaking force of steel wire ropes, was introduced from proposing revision plan to completing revision and publishing the new standard, as well as the technical improvements of the new standard were described. The completion of ISO 3108:2017 had a positive effect on the improvement of the quality of Chinese steel wire rope products, and at the same time it enhanced the influence and discourse power of China in the field of international wire rope testing.
