    Research Progress on Water Absorption of Epoxy Resin and Epoxy Resin Based Solid Buoyancy Materials

    • Water absorption of epoxy resin and hollow glass bead filled solid buoyancy materials based on epoxy resin were introduced at home and abroad, and the influencing factors of its water absorption were analyzed. The results show taht:the reason for water absorption is the polar group and the free volunme in the solid buoyancy materials based on epoxy resin, the gap between the epoxy resin and the hollow glass bead interface. The water absorbability of solid buoyancy materials can be reduced by improring the formula of epoxy resin and using the silane coupling agent to activate hollow glass microspheres. Finally, the research direction of solid buoyancy materials based on epoxy resin was prospected.
