Abstract
The causes of fracture of a high chromium cast iron wear-resistant liner during installation were analyzed by macroscopic analysis, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination, mechanical property test and fracture micro analysis. The results show that the fracture of the liner was transgranular brittle fracture, and the casting defects such as looseness, shrinkage cavity and casting cracks were the main reasons for the fracture of the liner. The uneven microstructure and coarse carbides with sharp edges and corners of the liner made it show hard and brittle characteristics and fail to inhibit the expansion of cracks, which eventually led to the brittle fracture of the liner under the action of external force during installation.
