    Uncertainty Evaluation on Measurement of Cross-Sectional Area of Irregular Brass Specimens through Weighing Method

    • The sources of uncertainty in measuring the cross-sectional area of irregular brass specimens through weight method were analyzed, and the measurement uncertainty of the cross-sectional area of the irregular brass specimens was evaluated. The results show that:the uncertainty sources of measuring the cross-sectional area of irregular brass specimens through weight method mainly included measurement uncertainty of the specimen length, measurement uncertainty of the specimen quality, measurement uncertainty of the water temperature when measuring the specimen density and so on. The uncertainty report of measuring cross-sectional area of irregular brass specimens for the test was:the cross-sectional area S0 of the specimen for the test was 63.14 mm2, the expanded uncertainty U was 2.25 mm2, and the coverage factor k was 2.
