    Reason Analysis on Fracture of Spring Steel Wires during Drawing

    • The fracture reasons of 65 steel hot rolled wire rods when drawing into spring steel wires were analyzed by means of fracture analysis, chemical composition analysis, metallographic analysis, energy spectrum analysis, mechanical property test, etc. The results show that the microstructure defects such as network ferrite, coarse and uneven grains, more non-metallic inclusions and so on, were main reasons for the fracture of the spring steel wires during drawing.
