    Repeatability and Accuracy of Tensile Property Measured by Instrumented Indentation Technique

    • The tensile property property tests were carried out on the carbon steel blocks of the same type and dimension by both new type of portable hardness tester and the traditional universal tensile machine. The yield strength and tensile strength of test blocks were tested to verify the repeatability and accuracy of the test results. The results show that:the test results of yield strength and tensile strength obtained by the instrumented indentation technique had good repeatability and high accuracy; different from the existing destructive measurement equipment and evaluation methods, the non-destructive, economical and efficient instrumented indentation testing method was used in indentation system; the reliable solutions could be provided through assessing from nanoscale size in local region to macroscopic properties of industrial facilities.
