Comparison of Metallographic Method and Differential Scanning Calorimetry Method for Testing β Phase Transition Temperature of TC4 Titanium Alloy

    • Taking the TC4 titanium alloy as an example, according to the testing standards of β phase transition temperature of titanium alloy released by the Ministry of Aerospace Industry, the results consistency of β phase transition temperature of titanium alloy measured by metallographic method and differential scanning calorimetry method was analyzed as well as the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods. The results show that: the difference values of β phase transition temperature of two groups of TC4 titanium alloy measured by these two methods were only 7℃ and 1℃. The results of β phase transition temperature of TC4 titanium alloy measured by these two methods were in good agreement, and both of the two methods could be used as the common testing method for β phase transition temperature of titanium alloy.
