    On-line Ultrasonic Measurement of Pulverized Coal Flux in Coal-powder Boilers

    • Based on ECAH theoretical model, the relationship between the pulverized coal volume fraction and the ultrasonic attenuation coefficient in pulverized coal solid-gas two-phase flow was analyzed. The pulverized coal flow velocity and volume fraction were measured with two ultrasonic probes whose axes were concentric with a 45° angle to the pulverized coal pipeline axis, and the on-line measurement of pulverized coal flux of pulverized coal solid-gas two-phase flow was realized. The results show that the test results obtained by ultrasonic method agreed well with the actual supply quantity of pulverized coal pre-set on the test platform, which indicated that measuring the pulverized coal flux with this method was feasible and reliable.
