Causes Analysis on Fracture of the Conductive Screw of a Gas Turbine Generator

    • The conductive screw (T2 copper) of a gas turbine generator fractured during use, resulting in the tripping of the generator. To find out the fracture causes, the conductive screw was analyzed from the aspects of macroscopic examination, structure analysis, chemical composition analysis, fracture analysis, metallographic examination and mechanical property test. The results show that the fracture failure of the conductive screw was due to the structural stress and the decreased strength at the high temperature. Finally, the corresponding improvement suggestions were given.
