    Uncertainty Evaluation of Measurement Results of the Coating Thickness Measurement Instruments

    • Through the error analysis of coating thickness measurement result of metallic materials, the factors influencing the uncertainty of coating thickness measurement were identified. The measurement result uncertainty of the coating thickness was detailedly evaluated by means of FMP40 coating thickness instrument. The results show that the measurement result of coating thickness X of the metallic specimen with film was (137.49±2.94) μm,and the coverage factor k was 2. The uncertainties which came from measurement indication error and calibration of instrument calibration foil had an important impact on the measurement. The evaluation results could provide a theoretical reference for improving the accuracy of the test results.
