Fracture Analysis on Bearing Spring of One Power Plant

    • The bearing spring of lower part on a turbine of one power plant had fractured. By means of chemical compositions analysis, hardress test, metallographic inspection and fracture surface analysis, the fracture reasons of the bearing spring were researched. The results show that the fracture mechanism of the bearing spring was fatigue fracture. The fracture failure of the spring was due to original defect of spring surface and corrosive medium in the service environment.
