Causes Analysis on the Fracture of the Tubing Joint in an Oil Well

    • The tubing joint in an oil well fractured only used for five months, and the fracture reasons were analyzed by observing its macro and micro morphology and testing its physical and chemical properties. The results show that the fracture of the tubing joint was mainly caused by sulfide stress corrosion cracking. Because the hydrogen sulfide content in the oil well was rather high, sulfur resistant material was suggested to be used.
