Reasons Analysis and Verification on Corrosion of Plastic Panel Caused by Static Film

Corrosion failure was found on HIPS plastic panel of a batch of dehumidifier at the position of sticking static film after being placed to the warehouse for several months.Through analyzing chemical compositions of the plastic panel and the static film,it was found that the corrosion of the plastic panel caused by the static film was mainly due to the plasticizer DOP migrating from the static film to HIPS panel and dissolving in it.At the same time,it was found that the plasticizer DOP migrating rate was accelerated with the increase of environmental temperature,and varied on different plastic panels and achieved the maximum value on HIPS panel.
