Abstract
The friction coefficients of two kinds of high strength graphite and SA 508 Gr3 steel pairs were measured to study the influences of experimental load, lubrication condition and γ ray irradiation on the friction coefficients, and the worn surface morphology of the fraction pairs was observed by SEM .The results show that the dry friction coefficient of high strength graphite A was the lowest when the load was 490 N,and was the highest when the load was 1 470 N .The friction coefficient of high strength graphite A in boric acid solution was lower than the dry friction coefficient. The friction coefficient of high strength graphite A was almost unchanged after γ ray irradiation. The dry friction coefficient of high strength graphite B was the lowest when the load was 980 N,and was the highest when the load was 490 N.During the friction, the uniform and continuous transfer film could be formed on the friction surface of SA 508 Gr3 steel to reduce the fraction and wear.
