Abstract: Some problems of present state in die making and using and early failure in mould and die industry were investigated from stress concentration of die structure,mould and die steels and carbides shape and distribution in these steels, quenching and tempering temperature and residual stress in die steel,die hardness and service life as well as some problems in service. Some methods of increasing die fracture resistance,reducing die early failure and increasing die service life were put forward.
