Abstract: An elbow of pipe were perforated and leaked. A series of analytic tests of the elbow were conducted as follows:the chemical composition,macro-appearance,micro-appearance,SEM analysis results indicated that the perforation may mainly be resulted from erosion-corrosion of the elbow by fluids. The prevention measures for perforation of the elbow were discussed.
