Abstract: Leakage reason of a high temperature reheater tube of a circulating fluidized bed boiler during water pressure test was investigated by means of macroscopic and microscopic examination. The results showed that the cracks were induced by polythionic acid stress corrosion. It was indicated that the stud welding of anchors on stainless steel tube was questionable.
