Abstract: An effective etching technique for laminar metal composite metallographic specimen was introduced against the difficulties in etching the kind of specimen. Especially for the heterogeneous metal composites with irregular interfaces,a method based on capillary phenomenon was proposed. It had been confirmed that the method was appropriate and the metallographic specimen of heterogeneous metal composite (TA1/16MnR) was successfully prepared in the way.
