Abstract: The 304L austenitic stainless steel slaker-classifier cracked during the preoperation. By means of metallographical examination, SEM and EDS analysis, the cracked parts were analyzed.The results showed that the vibration of stream pipeline leading to an alternate loading on the wall of the slaker-classifier, caused the fatigue crack. With the extending of the crack, the slaker-classifier cracked finally.
