Abstract: The starter axis of C100 motor was broken abruptly while starting. The fracture cause was analyzed by macroscopic view,SEM,metallographic examination,and microhandness test. The results showed that was embrittleness fracture which was resulted from hydrogen atom penetrating into surface of axis during plating Zn.
