Abstract: Application of Siemens S7-200 PLC in small punch test (SPT) apparatus was introduced,which realized the automatization and minimized the complexity of operation. The serial communication between PLC and PC was realized by the visual basic software,the data of SPT can automatically be collected,displayed on the PC,calculated to actual mechanical properties.
