Abstract: The recent research on die steels and heat treatment processes in China have been reviewed. Three kinds of steels that is cold work die steels,hot work die steels and plastic mould steels,including their standards,heat treatment processes,performances and applicarion ranges have been stated in this poper. It can be concluded that rather perfect die industry and die steels series have been established in China. Properties of some die and mould steels and their heat treatment have been attained with advanced world standards.
