Abstract: The cause of pit defects on inner wall of boiler water heater tube was analyzed by means of chemical composition analysis, macroscopic and microscopic examination. The results showed that the original reason of pit defects was the oxide of iron embedded in tube in manufacturing process and peeled off after heat treatment.
