Abstract: The importance and various methods of intermediate checks for equipments and reference materials in physical testing and chemical analysis were introduced. Moreover, the checks for the equipments most in use such as universal testing machine of materials，hardness testers，impact testing machines，optical microscope，electronic balance，spectrometer etc. and reference materials were presented in detail, and the typical illustrations of applications for intermediate checks in the scope of physical testing and chemical analysis were provided.
